Hi! My name is Lisa and I have enjoyed quilting for the past nine years. I had admired quilts for many years before I actually started making my own quilts, and was fascinated by the craftsmanship and skill that went into making what I considered works of art. I put off learning how to quilt, telling myself that it would be too difficult, or that I just wouldn’t be good at it. When I saw a beginning quilting class being offered in my area, I decided to finally give it a try and see for myself if quilting might be something I could actually do and enjoy. To my surprise, I found quilting to be much easier than I had imagined, and although my first couple of projects were not exactly fabulous, it didn’t take long to get the hang of fabric selections and some basic skills before I was creating quilts that I could be proud of. I found that there are patterns and techniques for all skill levels and even the simplest of patterns can be employed to become beautiful quilts.
Since then I have gone on to doing custom quilt work for people as well as selling my quilts at boutiques and even showing my work at local museums. What I love most, though, is to sew special gifts for my friends and family, giving a small piece of myself to them in the form of a quilt, to show them how much they mean to me.
I started this website with the hope that it might encourage others to give quilting a try, by providing some basic information about supplies, machinery, techniques, etc., and hopefully making quilting seem accessible to anyone who thinks that learning this beautiful art form might be fun and fulfilling.
Best wishes in all of your quilting endeavors! I hope this website helps!
